AI Platform supports i3/i5/i7/i9 CPU, up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM, PCIe x16 GPU/AI Card, 4xSATA SSD/HDD, Dual LAN, 3xUSB
The AIEdge-X500 offers users a flexible AI platform to develop and operate cost-efficient and high-performance AI systems and neural networks, which—alongside its versatile native I/O—also features additional expansion slots and interfaces for hardware customization.
The industrial AI system AIEdge-X500 uses socket LGA1151 for Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9 CPUs of the 8th and 9th generation "Coffee Lake," which in combination with up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM provide scalable performance with four to eight cores and up to 16 virtual threads. Supported storage media include up to four 2.5'' SATA SSD/HDD with hardware RAID 0/1/5/10 support and an additional M.2 SSD as a primary boot medium. For expansion, including a GPU or a Movidius Myriad X VPU extension card, the system offers one PCI Express slot in x16 and x4 formats, as well as a legacy PCI slot.
The AIEdge-X500 is designed as a modular system that allows for extensive customization in terms of performance and available I/O. In addition to its native interfaces, which include triple USB, Serial COM in RS232/422/485, and dual GbE LAN, the industrial AI platform also includes internal headers for three additional RS232 COM ports, six USB connections, and an 8-bit GPIO. In most applications, the AIEdge-X500 functions as a headless AI M2M server without direct user interaction but also supports use as a SCADA and H2M interface or data terminal via its HDMI output.
Due to its versatile configuration, the AIEdge-X500 handles various tasks in experimental and productive environments—for example, in industry, telecommunications, logistics, or scientific research. Its reliable design supports a temperature range from 0° Celsius to 45° Celsius with active cooling and withstands shocks up to 50G and continuous vibration up to 500 Hz. Practical application areas include heterogeneous and homogeneous IT infrastructures running individual AI applications on a compact and cost-efficient system, usable in Industry 4.0, intelligent surveillance, traffic management, or data analytics scenarios.
