In addition to these, the Managed L2 Switch uses two modules, each with a maximum of eight additional ports, and an RJ45 access for the Operator Console. The size of the RUGGEDCOM-M2100 corresponds to the requirements for mounting as 1U Rackmount Server. The robust aluminum chassis protects the RUGGEDCOM-M2100 against physical and electromagnetic interference, which is certified to MIL-STD against shock, thermal load, electrical impulses (EMI) and magnetic fields. Supported protocols include Telnet, TFTP, IGMP, SNMP v1/2c/3, PPP, UDP, HTTP and DHCP as clients. Maximum failure safety is achieved by the RUGGEDCOM-M2100 not only by its design, but also by redundancy on software level via STP, RSTP, eRSTP and MSTP. The managed L2 switch is suitable for industrial applications as well as office environments, such as computer rooms and data centers.
