SB-5000
Fanless Box PC supports Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9, Celeron, Pentium CPUs, up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM, 9xUSB, 6xCOM, 2xLAN
The SB-5000 model is a versatile and modular fanless box PC that stands out due to its flexible support for various CPUs from the Intel Core, Celeron, or Pentium series and internal interfaces including DDR5 dual bank and expansion slots in M.2 and Mini Card, allowing for versatile customization, optimization, and scalability.
Despite its design as a fanless box embedded PC, the SB-5000 model uses an Intel LGA1700 socket that supports a wide range of Intel 12th/13th generation series CPUs including Core i9/i7/i5/i3 and Celeron. Two SO-DIMM slots optimized for dual-channel operation are available for memory, supporting up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM, and are compatible with both desktop modules and server-grade memory with integrated ECC error correction. As native storage media, the SB-5000 model utilizes two 2.5" drive bays with SATA III connection, but also provides the option to expand this with two additional drives, such as for backup, via two M.2 expansion cards.
Despite its compact form factor, the SB-5000 model features an unusually extensive and versatile native I/O that significantly simplifies integration into various environments such as IoT structures, SCADA and H2M applications, or process automation. For direct peripheral connection, the modular and fanless industrial PC offers nine USB 3.2 ports, six serial COM RS232/422/485 interfaces, and a 16-bit DIO with electrical isolation. The SB-5000 further supplements this with dual LAN offering 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps bandwidth as primary network interfaces and optionally four additional PoE+ Gigabit ports, e.g. for branched networks or IP devices. The SB-5000 is typically used as a headless server but also offers excellent options for digital signage or H2M interfaces through VGA and triple DP or HDMI output.
For reliable operation in harsh environments, the SB-5000 model adopts a robust and fanless approach, which also makes embedded computing in vehicles an attractive use case. To ensure optimal integration into mobile electronics, the SB-5000 additionally offers a specialized Car Mode that provides additional functions for use as an in-vehicle embedded PC.
Despite passive cooling, the SB-5000 utilizes the Intel LGA1700 socket and is compatible with 12th and 13th generation CPUs – up to the Intel Core i9. Two SO-DIMM slots allow for up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM in dual-channel operation, optionally with ECC support. For data storage, two 2.5" SATA III drive bays are available, along with two additional M.2 slots, for example for integrating backup SSDs.
The extensive I/O equipment makes the SB-5000 ideal for applications in IoT, SCADA, HMI, or industrial automation. It offers nine USB 3.2 ports, six serial COM ports (RS232/422/485), an electrically isolated 16-bit DIO, and two LAN ports with up to 2.5 Gbps. Optionally, four more PoE+-enabled GbE ports can be integrated. For graphics output, VGA, HDMI, and triple DisplayPort are available – also ideal for digital signage or HMI.
The fanless design and robust construction enable reliable operation even in harsh environments. For use in the automotive sector, the SB-5000 features a special Car Mode, making it an ideal embedded solution for mobile applications.
