L2 switch EDS-408A-MM-SC is a managed industrial switch that represents A series, which reliability and popularity are time-tested. Unlike basic models, this device features 8 communication ports, of which 2 conform to 100 Base FX standard and have a SC connector, and are provided for signal transmission via optical multi-mode fiber at great distances (up to 5 km). Such design renovation has been introduced by the request of the industrial engineers who found it difficult to connect remote devices. This design expands the opportunities for industrial systems construction. Switch EDS-408A-MM-SC: description and features: The device conforms to the modern IPv6 industrial standard. MOXA's unique invention - Turbo Ring network redundancy technology - is applied. Recovery time for a network of 250 switches is under 20 ms. VLAN and GVRP assist in network architecture planning and management. The protocol allows segmentation, ignoring the restrictions imposed by the physical location of peripheral equipment. Three versions of SNMP provide a user with safe multi-layer management. RMON secures remote control, provides comprehensive information on the device status and network performance. If the configuration is done correctly, the protocol will inform you about the potential problems earlier than they affect a user. QoS ranges packets considering their priority degree and transfers the more essential data first. IEEE 802.1W supports Spanning Tree technology. DHCP Option 82 allows assigning IP address with different policies.
