Industrial switch EDS-408A-3S-SC-T by MOXA is an improved version of a 8-port managed switches of "A" series. Firstly, in addition to 5 copper Ethernet ports, there are 3 optical ports of 100BaseFX type located on the front panel for data transfer via optical fiber at the distance up to 40 km. Secondly, SNMP v1/v2/3 and RMON protocols are used to notify about the device status and network performance, as well as to manage the network on various layers. Operation in accordance with Turbo Ring technology and implementation of 802.3ad LACP, IGMP v1/v2 and QoS protocols ensure fast system recovery (20ms for a network of 250 switches) and optimized bandwidth operation. The compact metal housing that rates IP30 will protect the electronic components from vibrations, shocks (МЭК-60068/IEC-60068), voltage spikes, static discharges and impulse interference (EN-55022, EN-61000-4, FCC). The redundant power input is automatically activated, if the main power source fails. The wide range of input voltage allows incorporating the device into a network with no extra equipment required, whereas, low consumption current will not affect the network load. For checking the network and terminal devices status, there is port mirroring available. The device provides access to the dedicated MAC addresses and manages the network over SNMP-OPC server. Mean time between failures (MTBF) is around 40 years. Network security and operation reliability are ensured by means of various modern intelligent management protocols. UL/cUL Class I Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 certificates allow you to use the switch in oil and gas recovery industry, whereas, DNV and GL certificates enable the device application in marine industry.
