The industrial switch EDS-316-MM-SC is a great choice of an unmanaged Ethernet switch for consolidation of network nodes and building scalable and flexible industrial infrastructure. The design features 14 coppers ports of 10/100 Base TX standard with RJ-45 slots and two optical ports of 100 Base FX standard with SC slots. They allow a signal to be transmitted over multi-mode optical fiber at the distance up to 5 km. Despite having that many ports, the switch remains rather compact in size and can be mounted on a wall or a DIN-rail. The design provides the improved protection of the device: a metal IP 30 industrial grade chassis, power redundancy, a discrete channel, and protection against broadcast storms. Unmanaged switch EDS-316-MM-SC: description and features: The device supports the following functions: direct and backward flow control (802.3x Flow Control, Back Pressure), speed auto negotiation and interface type auto detection (Auto MDI/MDI-X). The switch supports all standard protocols, and offers new features: EEE 802.1X — for extended user authentication; LACP Port Trunking — for flexible network connections; IGMP Snooping — for data packet filtration; RARP (DHCP/BootP servers) — for IP address allocation to peripheral devices. For checking network and terminal devices state, there is port mirroring available. The device provides access to dedicated MAC addresses and manages the network over SNMP-OPC server. The operation modes can be set up using switches (e.g. when choosing a port for alerting on failures and activating broadcast storm protection), whereas a light indication system informs about the device and communication state. UL/cUL Class I Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 certificates allow you to use the switch in explosion hazardous conditions of oil and gas recovery industry, whereas, DNV and GL certificates enable its marine application. Mean time between failures (MTBF standard) is around 30 years. L2 switch EDS-316-MM-SC operates in either of two communication modes (full-duplex and half-duplex), supports most of the modern protocols, provides hardware and software protection. Its optical ports will keep even the most remote network segments always connected. The device can be applied at any facility where it is required to construct a high speed scalable and flexible industrial network segment.
