The DS108 is an industrial unmanaged Ethernet switch with six RJ45 LAN and optionally two SFP fiber optic ports. It stands out due to its high performance and rugged design for harsh environments, as well as its compact structure, making it ideal for use in control cabinets and narrow DIN rail installations in complex networks such as IoT environments.


As an industrial switch, the DS108 supports RJ45 Base-TX Gigabit Ethernet and optionally ST or SC connectors for Base-FX, enabling the setup of local, protected, and high-performance networks across spatially distributed devices at strategic nodes. The optional combination of Ethernet inputs for digital LAN structures with a range of up to 100 meters and optical signal transmission via SFP makes the rugged DS108 an ideal IT gateway to establish branched and large-scale IT infrastructures over distances up to 30 kilometers in a protected, independent, and fail-safe network. Thanks to its rugged design, installation can take place in harsh environments such as open factory halls or protected outdoor areas like control cabinets or fuse boxes.


In its base version, the DS108 offers eight LAN ports Base-T/TX Ethernet with bandwidths of up to 10/100/1000 Mbps for the development of redundant or complex structured networks. High reliability even under harsh conditions is ensured by a 1K MAC address table, 448K bit memory for packet storage, and direct data forwarding to other gateways or end devices. For maximum efficiency and security within the network, the DS108 also offers the option to activate Quality-of-Service (QoS) or broadcast storm protection via DIP switches, thereby creating an additional physical layer of IT security.


For its use as a rugged industrial device, the DS108 features a fanless and maintenance-free design housed in a steel metal chassis that ensures a long service life of at least 200,000 hours MTBF under continuous 24/7/365 operation. Electrical isolation absorbs voltages up to 8 kV via induction and 6 kV via signal lines. The primary applications of the DS108 Ethernet switch are in robust IoT structures and industrial-strength networks typically found in industrial environments.
