WGS-E304PT
PoE+ Extender Unmanaged Layer 2 Switch with PoE++ Input, 4x PoE+ Output, Max. 70 Watt Power, up to 350 Meters Distance
The technical distance limit of about 100 meters often poses a critical barrier when using RJ45 Base-T LAN and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). The long-range PoE+ Extender WGS-E304PT extends this to a distance of up to 350 meters while providing integrated power supply for four IP devices.
The WGS-E304PT is an unmanaged Layer 2 Ethernet switch featuring one 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE++ port as uplink and for power input, as well as four PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet ports as downlink for end devices. By flexibly distributing the 90 watts of power allowed under PoE++ 802.3bt across up to four PoE+ outputs, the industrial wall mount extender supplies various IP devices with a maximum of 30 watts per output, up to a total limit of 70 watts. Unlike other PoE extenders, the WGS-E304PT requires no external power source and no additional configuration or manual setup beyond connecting RJ45 Cat5/5e/6 UTP cables.
To optimize for individual requirements, the WGS-E304PT supports three different operating modes: In Standard mode, the PoE+ switch allows connections with 10/100/1000 Mbps bandwidth over a total distance of up to 200 meters. In security-critical environments, the four end devices can also be isolated from one another via an integrated VLAN to prevent internal communication. For maximum range, the WGS-E304PT features an Extended Mode, which allows distances of up to 250 meters between the switch and the IP devices at reduced bandwidth.
For fail-safe, maintenance-free operation under harsh conditions, the WGS-E304PT uses a fanless rugged design and tolerates extreme temperatures from -40° Celsius to +75° Celsius. It can be mounted either via wall mount or DIN-rail, and is suitable for use in clusters or small, enclosed spaces without airflow. Thanks to its high reliability and flexibility, the WGS-E304PT is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as process or building automation, infotainment and digital signage, video surveillance, and IoT applications involving widely distributed networks or gateways.
