IPC2U introduces the ARBOR FPC-9309W-G5, an expandable industrial Edge AI computer combining Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors with support for NVIDIA RTX 50 Series GPUs with power consumption up to 575 W. Four independent 2.5GbE ports, multiple PCIe expansion slots and industrial I/O make the system particularly relevant for multi-camera machine vision, demanding Edge AI inference, optical inspection and industrial data acquisition.
Platform Architecture and GPU Expansion
Intel Core Ultra Series 2 · Intel W880E · Up to 192 GB DDR5 ECC · Support for NVIDIA RTX 50 Series GPUs with power consumption up to 575 W · 24–48 V DC
The FPC-9309W-G5 uses an LGA1851 socket and supports Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors with 35 W or 65 W TDP. The system provides four DDR5 U-DIMM slots for up to 192 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and supports both ECC and non-ECC modules.
The NPU integrated into Intel Core Ultra processors can accelerate suitable AI workloads with relatively low power consumption. For computationally intensive Edge AI and machine vision applications, the system can additionally be equipped with high-performance discrete NVIDIA GPUs.
Two PCIe x16 slots are available for GPU expansion. The system supports one NVIDIA RTX 50 Series GPU with power consumption up to 575 W and a card length of up to 357.6 mm. Alternatively, dual-GPU configurations with up to 300 W per GPU are supported. The GPU model, dimensions, cooling requirements and power supply must be verified for each specific system configuration.
Three additional physical PCIe x8 slots, each connected through four PCIe lanes, provide five PCIe expansion slots in total.
Connectivity and I/O
Four Intel WGI226LM controllers provide four independent 2.5GbE ports. This is useful for applications that require multiple cameras or other Ethernet devices to be connected through separate network interfaces.
For display connectivity, the FPC-9309W-G5 provides two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 2.1 connectors with resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz. The system supports a maximum of two independent displays simultaneously; the four physical connectors provide flexibility when selecting the required display interfaces.
Eight USB 3.2 Gen2 ports provide data rates of up to 10 Gbps.
Industrial communication is supported by four serial ports. Two are software configurable for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485, while two additional ports provide fixed RS-232 connectivity. A DB25 connector provides eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs for direct connection to PLCs and field sensors. An out-of-band management port with an RJ-45 connector is available as an option.
M.2 expansion options with SIM support are available for optional cellular connectivity. An M.2 E-key slot supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while a full-size mini-PCIe slot with a SIM card socket can accommodate an additional wireless or GPS module.
Storage Options
Two externally accessible drive bays accept 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives with transfer rates of up to 600 MB/s. Two M.2 M-key slots with PCIe x4 connectivity accommodate NVMe SSDs.
Depending on the storage configuration, the system supports RAID 0, 1 and 5. The externally accessible drive bays simplify maintenance and drive replacement.
Operating Temperature and Power
The supported operating-temperature range depends on the installed configuration:
- −20 to +70 °C with a 35 W TDP CPU
- −20 to +55 °C with a 65 W TDP CPU
- −20 to +45 °C with an NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU
The storage-temperature range is −40 to +85 °C.
With an SSD installed, the system has been tested for vibration according to MIL-STD-810G Method 514.6 Category 4 and for shock according to MIL-STD-810G Method 516.6 at 20 G. These ratings refer to the manufacturer's specified test configuration. The suitability of a particular GPU and expansion-card combination must be evaluated separately.
The system accepts a 24–48 V DC input through a four-pin terminal block. Configurable ignition control and power on/off delay allow the computer to start or shut down in response to an external control signal. TPM 2.0 is integrated on-board.
The all-metal chassis measures 220 × 380 × 320 mm, weighs 7.4 kg and supports wall mounting using the optional WMK-9300 mounting kit.
Supported operating systems include Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise and Linux. Certifications include CE and FCC Class A.
