The HQ-Box2 series includes a range of fanless rugged IoT and network servers characterized by their high flexibility, excellent energy efficiency, and scalable computing performance, combined with a flexible design for extensive customization of I/O and various extension slot options.

As main processors, the HQ-Box2 edge servers use an Intel Xeon D-1700 or D-1800 CPU, which operate at a clock speed of up to 3.5 GHz in Turbo Boost Mode with up to ten processing cores. The memory supports up to 384 GB DDR4 RAM across three memory banks with ECC modules, which provide automatic error correction for maximum data security. In its minimal configuration, the HQ-Box2 features one M.2 extension slot each for SATA3 and NVMe, enabling redundant structures such as combined or physically separated drives and optimization for bandwidth, data capacity, or IT security. Optionally, the Storage M/M.6 and Combo-S modules offer universally deployable data servers for NAS or internet-based use, supporting up to seven M.2 SSDs or two M.2 storage devices plus four 2.5'' hot-plug drive bays.

The rugged fanless HQ-Box2 server is largely scalable and allows extensive customization via the choice of extension slots. Options range from the basic model with two native M.2 slots to the AI version, which accommodates four NVMe Gen4, three NVMe Gen3, and one M.2 SATA expansion card. These can be used, for example, in conjunction with NVIDIA AI GPUs for extremely compact, powerful, and reliable AI systems that operate completely without mechanical components and are thus virtually maintenance-free 24/7/365. For integration into homogeneous, distributed, or redundant network topologies, the HQ-Box2 fanless edge server always includes RJ45 ports for 2.5 GbE dual LAN and Gigabit Ethernet, as well as multiple SFP+ interfaces. While primarily used as a headless edge server, it also provides optional graphical output to high-resolution monitors and touchscreens via an integrated DisplayPort (DP).

With an extremely wide temperature range of -40° Celsius to +72° Celsius in the industrial version and a rugged fanless design, the HQ-Box2 tolerates continuous operation even under extremely harsh conditions. A car mount is also available for vehicle installation, which can be upgraded with additional features such as delayed boot and shutdown. A long lifespan of more than 100,000 hours MTBF ensures on average an uninterrupted, maintenance-free operation of the HQ-Box2 for at least a decade.

The numerous customization options for computing power and interfaces make the HQ-Box2 a universally deployable edge server capable of handling even exceptional challenges. Typical application scenarios include file and data servers in local and global networks, virtualized environments such as for thin clients, telecommunications including powerful IT gateways, and AI applications based on neural networks. Currently, the HQ-Box2 plays an important role as a robust IT node with its many SFP+ and RJ45 LAN ports, offering capabilities such as deep packet inspection to manage data transfer between 5G WWAN, long-distance fiber-optic connections, and LANs for internal usage.
