EDS-518A network switch would be perfect for creating very complex industrial Fast Ethernet networks. The device houses 18 communication ports: 16 10/100 Base TX ports with RJ-45 slots and 2 Gigabit combo ports with RJ-45 or SFP slots for optical modules. Such configuration allows integrating large number of devices and connecting them to a remote server or a workstation using optical ports. L2 Ethernet switch EDS-518A by MOXA: description and features: The device supports intelligent functions of control (SNMP v1/v2/v3), monitoring (RMON), planning (VLAN, GVRP), traffic filtration (IGMP, GMRP), prioritizing (QoS). There are new integrated protocols of time synchronization (1588 PTPv2), flexible network connections (802.3ad LACP), network security extension (TACACS+, IEEE 802.1X, HTTPS, and SSH). The device provides several network control modes using user-friendly web interface, command line interface (CLI), Telnet console, Windows utility, and ABC-01 backup configurator. There are 2 isolated digital inputs for automation devices and 2 discrete output relay channels for prompt notification about power supply interruptions or communication disruptions. Taking into account its opportunities, the device can be characterized by good power supply efficiency and consumes 12.24 W (0.5 A at 24 V). The power supply redundancy secures uninterruptible operation. The fanless metal housing that rates IP30 (94х135х143) protects the electronic components from solid particles ingress, shocks and vibrations (МЭК-60068/IEC-60068). The device is available in wall and DIN-rail mounting configurations. Mean time between failures (MTBF) - 27 years. Thanks to multiple ports and 2 Gigabit paths, EDS-518A from MOXA can play the main role in any scalable industrial network.
