ICP DAS has introduced a new series of secure gateways — the GW-2515iM, GW-2525iM, and GW-2535iM — designed to enable secure data exchange between Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII networks.
The GW-2500iM series combines industrial protocol gateway functionality with advanced cybersecurity mechanisms, providing reliable data protection when integrating equipment into industrial networks and IIoT systems.
Secure Data Transmission
Unlike traditional Modbus gateways, the GW-2500iM series supports modern information security features:
- Support for Modbus TCP Security (TLS);
- Built-in HTTPS server with user authentication;
- Data encryption using AES-128, AES-256, and SHA-256 algorithms;
- Support for IEEE 802.1X network authentication (EAP, PEAP).
These technologies ensure secure data transmission between industrial devices, prevent unauthorized access, and significantly reduce the risk of information leakage.
Additional Security Features
The GW-2500iM series gateways feature built-in IP address filtering, which allows you to:
- Restrict access to trusted devices only;
- Block unwanted connections;
- Enhance the overall level of information security across the industrial network.
Extensive Communication Capabilities
The new series supports all of the most widely used Modbus operating modes:
- Modbus TCP Security (TLS) in Master and Slave modes;
- Modbus TCP/UDP in Master and Slave modes;
- Modbus RTU/ASCII in Master and Slave modes.
Additional features include:
- Up to 32 simultaneous TCP Master connections per serial port;
- Read Cache function for faster Modbus TCP/UDP responses;
- Automatic device discovery via UDP Search;
- Network configuration using a static IP address or DHCP;
- Built-in Web interface for convenient configuration;
- Support for secure network services, including HTTPS and SNMPv3;
- Fast device boot-up time of less than 5 seconds.
Rugged Metal Industrial Enclosure
Unlike the GW-2200i series, the new gateways feature a robust metal enclosure that provides greater mechanical reliability and enhanced resistance to harsh industrial operating conditions.
Comparison with the GW-2200i Series
