The Vortex86DX is a powerful, static 32-bit CPU with a clock frequency of 800 MHz, which complements the PC/104 Embedded Board VDX-6358RD with a 256MB DDR2 RAM and a 4MB SPI Flash memory. As an SoC chip, the processor already includes numerous controllers for external I/O, which in the case of the VDX-6358RD include interfaces for 10/100Mbit/s dual LAN, three COM ports in RS232 and another in RS232/422/485, dual USB 2.0, a parallel port as well as IDE UltraDMA 100/66/33 and a 16-bit GPIO. In addition, the VDX-6358RD PC/104 embedded board supports graphic output via VGA or TFT flat interface and has 32MB of dedicated video memory for resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. The rugged design enables use in harsh environments and includes a wide temperature range from -20° Celsius to +70° Celsius.
