IECS-1116-DI
EtherCAT Slave I/O Module supports up to 16 EtherCAT Input Clients, RJ45 Daisy Chain, DC Clock, 3750 VDC Isolation
The industrial EtherCAT Slave I/O module IECS-1116-DI enables the straightforward and organized setup of automated processes and, for this purpose, provides 16 isolated input channels for EtherCAT slave devices in a rugged design suitable for compact mounting, such as on DIN rail systems and inside control cabinets.
With the IECS-1116-DI, up to 16 input slave clients can be integrated into automated SCADA environments and controlled in real time via the EtherCAT protocol. The maximum number of devices connected to the network is up to 65,535 endpoints, which can be freely composed of input channels and, with the help of the EtherCAT Slave Output Module IECS-1116-DO, of outputs. Multiple modules can be connected using RJ45 daisy chain with just one connection to the EtherCAT master unit, making the combination of IECS-1116-DI and IECS-1116-DO ideal for complex automation in small spaces with minimal effort.
As I/O, the IECS-1116-DI isolated input module uses RJ45 dual LAN as the interface for the bus system and terminal connectors as interfaces for power supply and the input channels. LED status indicators display the current operating status for each channel, ensuring easy and quick installation and troubleshooting. Through support for EtherCAT Distributed Clock (DC) for real-time applications and integrated synchronization of timestamps, including intervals between incoming and outgoing data frames, the IECS-1116-DI achieves extremely low latency of less than 1 μs between different slave modules.
For fail-safe operation in harsh environments, the IECS-1116-DI features a robust, fanless design without mechanical wear parts and tolerates a wide temperature range from -40° Celsius to +75° Celsius. All digital input channels are optically isolated against voltages up to 3750 VDC to protect the industrial module and sensitive peripherals from power surges. The IECS-1116-DI is suitable for various input devices such as switches, sensors, or measuring instruments and serves as a reliable and flexible EtherCAT solution for applications in smart factories, conventional industrial production, building automation, or mechanical and plant engineering.
