The HQ-Box2-Combo-IM is part of a modern generation of universal and scalable fanless embedded servers, equipped with a high-performance Intel Xeon D-1700 or D-1800 from the 10th Core generation (Ice Lake), expandable DDR4 ECC RAM across three memory banks, and numerous expansion slots for PCI Express and M.2 extension cards.

The Intel Xeon CPUs of the D-1700 and D-1800 series in the HQ-Box2-Combo-IM are energy-efficient system-on-chip processors that, depending on local computing needs, utilize between four and ten cores at clock speeds of up to 3.40 GHz. These fanless rugged servers use three memory channels supporting up to 384 GB DDR4 RAM with ECC memory correction, ensuring maximum data integrity during uninterrupted 24/7/365 operation. With separate slots for M.2 SATA and NVMe SSDs and an integrated eMMC flash drive as boot media, the HQ-Box2-Combo-IM supports redundant storage setups via RAID, as well as performance- and capacity-optimized configurations.

As external interfaces, the HQ-Box2-Combo-IM fanless embedded server features dual USB 3.0, two serial COM ports (RS-232), and a DisplayPort output for screens and touch panels. Its primary function, however, is as a mobile or stationary edge performance server with extensive multi-network connectivity. To this end, the HQ-Box2-Combo-IM offers 2.5 GbE dual LAN, eight SFP+ ports, and an additional Gigabit Ethernet port for backup or uplink/downlink connections to remote IP devices. With its numerous extension slots—including one PCI Express x16, one x8, and three M.2 sockets—it can be comprehensively customized and optimized for specific tasks.

The HQ-Box2-Combo-IM is available in three versions: the standard version operates fanlessly at temperatures between 0°C and 50°C; the extended version tolerates -20°C to +60°C; and the industrial edition is rated from -40°C to +72°C. It can also be installed as an in-vehicle or transportation computer using an optional mounting kit. Under designated operational conditions, the system offers a runtime exceeding 100,000 hours—over 11 years mean time between failure (MTBF)—without requiring costly or labor-intensive maintenance or operational downtime. Optional wireless or mobile internet access is available via M.2 WLAN and WWAN modules. For fleet management and other logistics applications, the HQ-Box2-Combo-IM also supports geolocation via GPS, Beidou, Galileo, and Glonass.
