RTU-140 4G Remote Terminal Unit with 32 bit CPU, 2G GSM, 3G UMTS, 4G LTE, Modbus RTU, COM RS485 Networking between one's own intranet and external field offices is becoming increasingly important in the modern world - the RTU-140 provides the user with a cellular gateway for communication via mobile networks, which enables the integration of the 4G remote terminal into the local network via Modbus. The RTU-140 serves as an interface between remote field offices and the internal IT infrastructure and, in addition to direct interaction with peripheral devices, also enables localization of the current position via GPS. The 4G Remote Terminal Unit supports integration via all currently used standards for mobile communications including 2G GSM, 3G UMTS and 4G LTE, so that it is fully backward compatible with other standards in case of missing connection or failure of a transmitting unit. A Serial RS485 COM port provides the interface for local peripherals, while direct configuration between a mobile computer and the 4G Cellular Gateway is made possible using micro USB as the interface. The RTU-140 uses an internal high-performance 32-bit CPU that enables near real-time response and processing. It can be DIN-rail or wall-mounted, and used in harsh environments with outdoor temperatures ranging from -25°C to 75°C. In practical use, the 4G Remote Terminal RTU-140 allows integration of external hardware via the flexible and secure Modbus RTU protocol to network and control industrial, scientific or experimental outdoor sites.
