802.3bt PoE++ 95-watt Power over 4-pair UTP Solution

Adopting the IEEE 802.bt PoE++ standard, the GS-4210-16UP8T4X can source up to 95 watts of power using all four pairs of standard Cat5e/6 Ethernet cabling. This power capability is three times more than conventional 802.3at PoE+ and is ideal for high-power-consuming network devices such as PoE PTZ speed dome cameras, network devices, thin clients, AIO touch PCs, POS systems, remote digital signage displays, and PoE lighting.

Advanced PoE Power Output Mode Management

To meet the demands of various powered devices, the switch supports multiple PoE operation modes, including 95-watt 802.3bt type-4 PoE++ mode and 4-pair legacy mode. This solves the incompatibility issues of non-standard 4-pair PoE PDs in the field.

Built-in Unique PoE Functions for Powered Devices Management

The GS-4210-16UP8T4X, a managed PoE++ switch for surveillance, wireless, and VoIP networks, features special PoE management functions such as PD Alive Check, Scheduled Power Recycling, PoE Schedule, PoE Usage Monitoring, and PoE Extension.

  • PD Alive Check: The switch can be configured to monitor connected PD status in real-time. If a PD stops working, the switch will resume the PoE port power, bringing the PD back to operation, enhancing network reliability and reducing administrator management burden.
  • Scheduled Power Recycling: The switch allows connected PoE IP cameras or wireless access points to reboot at specified times each week, reducing the chance of crashes from buffer overflow.
  • Common-Scheduled-Power-Recycling.png
  • PoE Schedule for Energy Savings: The PoE schedule function helps enable or disable PoE power feeding for each port during specified time intervals, contributing to energy savings and environmental protection. This function also enhances security by powering off PDs during non-business hours.
  • GS-4210-16UP8T4X-3.png
  • PoE Usage Monitoring: The web management interface allows administrators to monitor the power usage status of connected PDs in real-time, enhancing management efficiency.
  • Extended Power and Data Transmission

In the “Extend” operation mode, the switch operates on a per-port basis at 10Mbps duplex operation and can support 50-watt PoE power output over distances up to 250 meters, overcoming the standard 100-meter limit on Ethernet UTP cable. This feature provides an additional solution for 802.3at/af PoE distance extension, saving Ethernet cable installation costs.

    Environment-friendly, Smart Fan Design

The GS-4210-16UP8T4X features a rack-mount metal housing, a low noise design, and an effective ventilation system. The smart fan technology automatically controls the fan speed to reduce noise and maintain optimal temperature, ensuring reliable and quiet operation.

    IPv6/IPv4 Dual Stack Management

Supporting both IPv6 and IPv4 protocols, the switch helps SMBs transition to IPv6 with minimal investment, as network facilities need not be replaced or overhauled if the IPv6 FTTx edge network is set up.

    Robust Layer 2 Features

The switch can be programmed for advanced management functions such as dynamic port link aggregation, 802.1Q VLAN and Q-in-Q VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), loop and BPDU guard, IGMP snooping, and MLD snooping. Link aggregation allows for high-speed trunk operation, while LLDP helps discover basic information about neighboring devices.

    Efficient Traffic Control

The switch is loaded with robust QoS features and powerful traffic management to enhance business-class data, voice, and video services. This includes broadcast/multicast storm control, per port bandwidth control, IP DSCP QoS priority and remarking, ensuring optimal performance for VoIP and video transmission.

    Powerful Security

The GS-4210-16UP8T4X offers comprehensive Layer 2 to Layer 4 Access Control List (ACL) for network security. It can restrict network access by denying packets based on source and destination IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports, or typical network applications. It also includes 802.1x Port-based user authentication and private VLAN function for user privacy.

    Advanced IP Network Protection

The switch provides DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard, and Dynamic ARP Inspection to prevent IP snooping attacks and discard ARP packets with invalid MAC addresses. This helps build highly secure corporate networks efficiently.

    Efficient Management

Equipped with Command line, Web, and SNMP management interfaces, the switch offers an easy-to-use, platform-independent management and configuration facility. Text-based management is accessible via Telnet and the console port, and the switch supports the standard SNMP protocol for management via any SNMP-based software.

    Remote Management Solution

PLANET's UNI-NMS, NMSViewerPro, and CloudViewerPro apps support IT staff in remotely managing network devices and monitoring PDs' statuses. These apps are designed for enterprises and industries with remote deployments, allowing for efficient management from a single platform.

    Flexibility and Long-distance Extension Solution

The switch provides 8 additional Gigabit TP interfaces for connecting surveillance network devices. Through its dual-speed fiber SFP slots, it supports various fiber transceivers for uplinking to backbone switches and monitoring centers over long distances, suitable for enterprise data centers and distribution applications.

    Intelligent SFP Diagnosis Mechanism

The GS-4210-16UP8T4X supports SFP-DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) for real-time monitoring of SFP parameters such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
