Neu-X303: Efficient Embedded Computer Systems for Industry and Commerce

10 October 2023 Product News
The Neu-X303 Edge Computing System signals a fundamental shift in industrial IT structures. The trend is moving away from central servers towards powerful locally installed embedded computers controlled by IoT applications. The new X303 exemplifies this development with a potent Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor with up to 10 cores and additional features. It forms the ideal foundation for a fanless edge embedded system that meets the requirements of productive commercial IT infrastructures in the 2020s.

Intel Processors with Exceptional Performance

Despite its fanless and compact design, the new X303 provides the computing power of powerful 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processors, such as the Core i7-1265UL, operating at clock speeds of up to 4.80 GHz, with ten cores and twelve virtual threads. Support for various CPUs from the i3/i5/i7 series in conjunction with up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM for memory ensures high scalability of the fanless embedded system. The new X303 acts as a co-processor, offering a dedicated Intel Xe Graphics Engine as a separate GPU that can be used for graphical output as well as for AI implementations and neural networks.

Redundant 2.5-Gigabit LAN for Fail-Safe Networking

The tasks of the new X303 include computation-intensive IoT applications in the field of Smart Manufacturing in Industry 4.0 or in the automation of technical processes. For a secure, stable, and reliable network connection, the high-performance embedded system features two RJ45 LAN ports with a bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps and an M.2 PCIe expansion slot, allowing the use of WLAN 802.11 for local wireless networks. With a total of four USB 3.2 Type-A ports and two additional USB-C ports for connecting peripherals or implementing additional interfaces, the new X303 offers various customization options for hardware.

4K/8K Graphics Output on Up to Four Displays

Other potential tasks of the new X303 include serving as an H2M or SCADA terminal in process management. The fanless edge computing system supports output to up to four independent displays or touchscreens with a resolution of up to 8K at 7680 x 4320 pixels thanks to its high performance and a standalone Xe graphics GPU. Multiple standards are available for outputs, including DisplayPort (DP) and HDMI 2.1. The two USB Type-C ports also allow for the quick and easy temporary use of additional monitors during configuration or maintenance. Clear structuring and a logical sequence of processes ensure a clear representation. Moreover, all terms and abbreviations are consistently and uniformly used to avoid misunderstandings.

Maximum Computing Power in a Compact, Fanless Design

The Neu-X303 operates fanless and, due to the absence of mechanical components, maintenance-free even in 24/7/365 continuous operation. It is certified for a wide temperature range from 0°C to +50°C and suitable for safe use in internal power grids with 12V DC low voltage. Thanks to its compatibility with the essential TPM 2.0 standard for efficient license and data protection, the new X303 allows out-of-the-box use of various operating systems such as various Linux distributions, Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, or specialized real-time operating systems (RTOS) in critical environments reliant on minimal latency.

Modern and Flexible Intel Embedded Computer for Commercial Applications

The new X303 is suitable for deployment in both experimental and productive environments. It is ideal for tasks such as the modernization or consolidation of embedded servers and PCs in existing IT structures. The versatile design combined with scalable performance and high computing power allows fanless edge systems to cover a broad range of applications, from classic or smart industrial manufacturing to the automation of machinery and systems, to IoT infrastructures, such as in telecommunications or data collection and processing in the service sector.
