Our customer, a specialized company for high-quality, user-friendly and professional IT solutions, chose a system based on the Neu-X100 PC to implement a universal infotainment system onboard the ship with set top boxes and connected displays between 24'' and 98''. Instead of relying on conventional consumer electronics like many competitors, he opted for Neu-X100 embedded computers designed by industrial standards in a compact slim format because of their reliability, robust design and high computing power.
Reliability: The majority of available set top boxes originate from consumer electronics for private households and do not meet the demands that must be placed on products for commercial use under sometimes difficult conditions. They also result in restrictions and inconvenience for travelers and place a burden on staff, who experience an additional workload for information, support, and damage repair and mitigation. High performance: The Neu-X100 have optimal characteristics for use as set top boxes on ships. They are based on an energy-efficient Intel Celeron J3455 processor with a clock frequency of 2.30 GHz with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 500 and supports up to 8 GB RAM as working memory. For graphics output, the Neu-X100 PC offers two HDMI ports that drive displays up to 98'' diagonal or higher with resolutions up to 4K. Furthermore, the Neu-X100 has two USB 3.0 ports for peripheral devices and maintenance. In addition, this enables redundant connection to the local network via dual Gigabit LAN and provides sufficient bandwidth for data-intensive applications such as video streaming.
