ICP DAS has introduced a new IIoT gateway UA-2641M, which allows you to simplify the integration of IT systems with process control systems and easily integrate field devices into the Cloud. UA-2641M has the function of a data concentrator, which allows it to poll devices using the Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP and MQTT protocols, and the built-in OPC UA server, RESTful, SNMP and MQTT support make it easy to connect the gateway to various cloud services, MES, ERP and SCADA systems.
The hardware gateway is based on a quad-core ARM CPU and OS Linux Kernel 4.1.15. It has 2 ports GLAN, USB, RS-485 and can operate in a wide temperature range from -25 to +75°C.
The software gateway supports polling any modules via Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP and MQTT protocols, as well as EIP-2000 modules via EtherNet/IP protocol. The maximum number of supported modules is indicated below:
Name | Modbus TCP | MQTT | EtherNet/IP | Modbus RTU/ASCII |
---|---|---|---|---|
UA-2600 | 200 | 400 | 100 | 32 x 3 ports |
UA-2200/5200 | 100 | 200 | 50 | 32 x 3 ports |
You can poll modules and send data to the upper level simultaneously in several modes that are easy to configure through the built-in assistant. The assistant allows you to set up the following modes step by step:
Upper level | Gateway role |
---|---|
OPC UA |
Modbus RTU/ASCII Master, Modbus TCP Client EtherNet/IP Scanner for EIP-2000 modules MQTT |
MQTT |
Modbus RTU/ASCII Master, Modbus TCP Client EtherNet/IP Scanner for EIP-2000 modules |
MQTT JSON Azure | Modbus RTU/ASCII Master, Modbus TCP Client |
Local Data Logger MS SQL, MySQL, MariaDB | Modbus RTU Master, Modbus TCP Client |
UA-2641M can work as a Data Logger, which allows you to save data directly to the local storage on MicroSD and SSD in CSV format or to an external MS SQL, MySQL and MariaDB database. In addition, the gateway has a PID controller function to control I/O devices and allows you to create virtual variables for data exchange.
Key features of the UA-2641M: IIoT gateway:
