The platform's 1× 10GbE LAN port moves sensor and camera data at up to 10 Gbps, ten times faster than traditional Gigabit, while onboard PoE PSE ports power IP cameras directly over the network cable, simplifying wiring on the factory floor.
Designed for harsh industrial environments, the AIE-KX operates across a −25°C to +70°C temperature range, accepts wide 9–36 VDC input power, and is validated for vibration and shock. Selected models support the Innodisk Out-of-Band (OOB) Remote Management module, allowing engineers to remotely reboot or recover a system after a crash — critical for unattended deployments. The AIE-KX Series is a fanless edge AI box PC built on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin module, available with either the 32 GB module (200 TOPS) or the 64 GB module (275 TOPS). The 64 GB variant pairs a 2048-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU and 64 Tensor Cores with a 12-core Arm® Cortex®-A78AE CPU and 64 GB of 256-bit LPDDR5 memory running at 204.8 GB/s — delivering the parallel compute bandwidth needed for high-resolution machine vision and on-device large language model inference.
Connectivity is built around real-world factory vision needs. Every model includes one GbE and one 10GbE RJ-45 port, and the KX11/12/21/22 models add two or four IEEE 802.3af GbE PSE ports that power PoE cameras directly (15 W per port, with ports 1 and 2 supporting 802.3at and a total PSE budget up to 60 W). This lets a single AIE-KX unit serve as both the AI compute node and the camera power source for a multi-camera inspection cell.
Expansion is comprehensive: one M.2 B-Key slot (LTE/4G/5G), one M.2 E-Key (Wi-Fi/BT), one M.2 M-Key (NVMe PCIe storage), plus a microSD slot and microSIM. I/O includes 2× USB 3.2 Type-A, USB Type-C (OTG and Gen2), RS-232, RS-422/485, 2× isolated CAN 2.0b (with CAN FD), 5× GPIO, I2C, and SPI — covering the serial, fieldbus, and sensor interfaces common on industrial equipment. HDMI 2.0 provides display output for local HMI or monitoring.
The system runs Linux with NVIDIA JetPack 6.2 and above, is certified to CE / FCC Class A / UKCA, and ships in a compact 220 × 170 × 79 mm chassis with optional wall-mount and DIN-rail brackets. With its wide operating temperature range, wide-input power, and optional out-of-band remote management, the AIE-KX is engineered for continuous, unattended operation in demanding smart-factory environments.
