TCP Client program can’t establish a connection with NPort, but NPort is available via ping and telnet
To check your network settings and NPort settings, do the following
To check your network settings and NPort settings, do the following:
1. Connect to your NPort web interface by inputting NPort IP address in the browser, and make sure your NPort is in the TCP server mode
For example, if you are using NPort of the 6000 series, go to page Serial Port Configuration > Operation Modes. In the Application dropdown menu, choose Socket, then choose TCP Server in Mode field.

2. Make sure, the listened TCP port of your Nport matches with a destination TCP port in your client program
3. If your host computer and Nport are in DHCP, do the following:
- Assign a fixed IP address to your NPort and PC and make sure they are in a single subnet.
- If NPort IP address is unknown or Nport is in a different subnet, install Device Search Utility/NPort Search Utility and press “Search” button to find all NPorts connected to the PC or located in the same local network.
4. If you are using DE-311/211, make sure that DIP SW1 is in OFF position (switched off)
5. Connect to NPort web interface and check, whether the destination ports are occupied by your TCP client program
For example, if you are using NPort of the 6000 series, go to page Log, Monitoring and Warning > System Monitoring > System Status > Network Connections and make sure, the destination ports of your TCP client program (or a local TCP port of your NPort) are in LISTEN mode

6. Make sure, that the IP address of your PC is included in the Accessible IP list of NPort
For example, in NPort 6000 series you can go to System Configuration > Accessible IP List, to see the list of available IP addresses and add the IP address of PC if it is not there yet.
