For converters of NPort 6000 series, there is a password when entering the web interface set by the manufacturer.

The guide is provided for work with NPort operating in a local network. Make sure, that a PC and NPort are in the same subnet.

To start the work, it is required to install a driver using a Windows NPort Driver Manager utility program. You can download Windows NPort Driver Manager utility from the manufacturer’s page at www.moxa.com

1. In Pair Connection mode, all signals are transmitted.
2. In TCP Server/Client mode, only Rx, Tx signals are transmitted.
3. As long as the service signals are not applied, there is no difference.

1. For all devices with RS-485 interface Moxa ensures the data transmission distance of 1.2km at the baudrate of 9600bps in accordance with RS-422/485 standard.
2. Providing there is no terminator resistors and no interferences, the distance will constitute 100m with the baudrate of 115200bps.
3. If high baudrate or distance is required, we recommend you to use the external power source for TCC-80.

Possible reasons and solutions

1. Incorrect operation mode has been chosen.

   Set [UDP mode] operation mode

2. Wrong UDP port in NPort has been selected.

   UDP port settings of NPort must coincide with the program settings.

3. DHCP error.

   If a host-computer and NPort are in the same DHCP medium:

   1. Assign a fixed IP address to a computer and an NPort device.
   2. DHCP medium, you can compare a given IP address with MAC addresses of NPort and a host.

4. A destination IP has been assigned incorrectly.

   Destination IP must be the same as the current IP of a host-computer.

5. Brandmauer filter rule.

   Make sure, that a TCP port in your brandmauer is open.

6. A DIP switch SW1 on DE-311/211 is deployed incorrectly.

   In DE-311/211 models, a DIP switch SW1 must be switched in OFF position.

7. Data loss.

   UDP protocol does not guarantee data delivery. However, there is something we can do to solve this problem:

   1. Relieve your network as much as possible.
   2. Your program must be capable of resending data in case it gets lost.
   3. Change the client/server architecture used.

To upgrade a firmware on NPort, launch NPort Administrator utility program.

To launch the firmware upgrade, right-click on NPort and select Upgrade Firmware function.

If it is required that NPort must be accessible from a public IP address in RealCOM mode while being behind NAT/Firewall, it is necessary to configure port forwarding on a router. Most routers support this function.
