Yes, a MOXA switch featuring a redundant power supply connection function can be supplied with power by two power sources of various voltage.

For example, you can connect a power supply source of 12 V DC to PWR1 and a power supply source of 24 V DC to PWR12. The switch will automatically define which power supply source provides greater voltage and use this power source as the main one.

Nevertheless, despite the fact that MOXA switches support the input voltage ranged from 12 to 48V, we advise you to avoid using a power supply unit close either to the lower limit (12V DC) or to the upper limit (48V DC). This will help you to prevent the switch failure in cases of overvoltage of more than 48V or unstable operation if the voltage drops below 12V. We highly recommend you to use a 24V power supply source.

Here is the formula calculating the necessary power supply unit:

N – number of connected devices
30% - recommended reserve

All Moxa managed switches support Turbo Ring / Turbo Chain technologies. Any managed switches from Moxa can work within a single Turbo Ring. It is also possible to combine interfaces with various data transfer medium (fiber or a twisted pair).

The embedded switch EOM-104 supports Turbo Ring and RSTP only.

Each of 8 ports of EDS-P510A-8PoE-2GTXSFP switch can provide up to 30W of power in PoE+ mode. And up to 36W of power in High PoE mode to power the industrial devices with high level of power consumption.

The power budget for EDS-P510A-8PoE-2GTXSFP PoE switch is 240W.

This allows you to use all 8 ports in PoE+ mode simultaneously. Therefore, if there are High PoE ports(36W), then there is not enough power for such ports.
