WoMaster DS105: Energy-efficient Ethernet switch for complex IT systems

04 October 2023 Product News
The WoMaster DS105 Ethernet Switch provides users with a cost-effective option to implement complex IT infrastructures in industrial environments. This robust Unmanaged Ethernet Switch enables a fail-safe and maintenance-free operation over an extended period. Advantages include a fanless, sturdy design, low hardware investment, and optimized energy management that allows very low costs for uninterrupted 24/7/365 operation. Unlike other standards, the DS105 does not require intricate setup or reduction of base performance. It is inherently extremely energy-efficient and operates without restrictions with the Ultra Low Power function in its basic configuration.

Robust Industrial Unmanaged Ethernet Switch for Complex IT Structures

The DS105 features two power supply ports and five LAN ports, each with a bandwidth of 10/100 Mbps according to the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet 10/100 Base-T standard. Each connection can achieve a maximum throughput of up to 148,000 packets per second (pps), allowing flexible multiple redundancy for down- or uplink or use in networks with hierarchical, ring, or star topologies. Ports 4 and 5 on the DS105 Ethernet Switch serve as monitored uplinks and are optimized and administered based on Quality-of-Service (QoS) port-based signal and connection quality.

Reliable and Secure IT Gateways for Challenging Conditions

Reliable and fail-safe Ethernet switches are essential in commercial networks as they serve as IT nodes and represent a central Single Point of Failure (SPOF). Small errors can lead to widespread and often difficult-to-locate failures in technical infrastructure. However, their importance is often overlooked. Key features of the DS105 include a fanless and maintenance-free design, a robust stainless steel housing, an extensive temperature range from -40°C to +75°C without free ventilation, and optional redundant power supply via a terminal block and a Micro USB input.

Easy Mounting and Installation in Complex Structures

The DS105 operates as an Unmanaged Switch without a web interface or console and functions passively without active configuration of the embedded switch. This means that, apart from cable connection and power supply, no further configuration for the network is required, and tasks such as address distribution via DHCP are handled by connected servers. For mounting, the Rugged Ethernet Switch uses laterally mounted metal rails, allowing for wall mounting or attachment to DIN rail mounting rails in conjunction with additional hardware.
