Today, we will take a closer look at the VTC 7270 series of embedded computers by Nexcom, designed for use in vehicles and industrial systems.

VTC 7270

Key advantages and applications of VTC 7270:

  • Increased computing power: based on the 12th/13th generation Intel Core-i processors, the VTC 7270 offers 30% more computing power compared to its predecessors. This is particularly crucial for applications involving artificial intelligence (AI) and big data processing.

The VTC 7270 is suitable for a wide range of vehicle telematics tasks, including:

  • Autonomous mobile robots (AMR)

  • Cloud service compatibility: Users can install LTE/5G modems, Wi-Fi 5/6 modules, and Hailo AI accelerators (delivering up to 26 TOPS of performance). This enables the deployment of AI-powered services in conjunction with cloud-based solutions (SaaS), ensuring flexibility and scalability.

  • Rugged design for harsh environments:

The VTC 7270 is designed to withstand harsh operating conditions, featuring:

The main difference between VTC 7270-C4/C8 and VTC 7270 is the number of 2.5 GbE PoE+ ports:

  • VTC 7270-C4: Total number of 2.5GbE PoE+ ports: 4

  • VTC 7270-C8: Total number of 2.5GbE PoE+ ports: 8

  • VTC 7270: No 2.5GbE PoE+ ports; instead, it features standard 2.5GbE ports

All other specifications of these two models remain the same.

In the base configuration, the entire series comes without a pre-installed CPU, RAM, or cooling fan. However, there is an option to select these components, as listed in the table below.
