UA-7231M is a new UA series device, manufactured by ICP DAS. It features a compact size, high performance and PoE support, making it ideal for installation in confined or difficult to reach power locations.
Key features of the new UA-7231M:
UA-7231M IIoT communication server offers the following features:
Built-in OPC UA, industry standard communications: connecting IT to OT, cloud device integration and cross-platform monitoring.
Support identity authentication (ID/PWD, certificate) and data encryption (SSL/TLS) for security and protection.
Built-in MQTT function, data transmission technology for IoT:
Providing MQTT Broker (non-SSL & SSL/WebSocket) and MQTT Client functions. The client can publish data to both the built-in local broker and the external broker, which effectively manages network traffic and reduces power consumption.
Supports simultaneous OPC UA and MQTT communication functions
Supports multiple communication protocols:
Supports Modbus RTU/TCP/ASCII, MQTT, EtherNet/IP and other protocols for integrating various communication devices.
Supports importing Modbus TCP and RTU module settings from CSV files, which simplifies the creation of configurations for modules with a large number of points
The new UA-7231M supports importing module configuration files, allowing settings for multiple Modbus TCP and RTU modules to be loaded simultaneously. Users can edit module settings in CSV format, save them, and then import multiple module settings with one click of the [Upload Module Profile] button. This makes the device ideal for large applications and multi-point module setups.
Also, the automatic configuration function of ICP DAS modules supports loading the current list of supported modules through this button.
Support local data logger/remote databases
Log files in CSV format support remote databases such as MS SQL, MySQL and MariaDB.
In addition, the data logger function provides a [Time Alignment] option that aligns the recording time to selected intervals.
When this option is enabled, the first event is recorded at the initial time, and subsequent events are aligned at multiple intervals (seconds, minutes, hours). For example, if the recording interval is 5 seconds, the first recording time will be 13:01:04, and the next ones will be 13:01:05, 13:01:10, etc.
This feature makes it easier and faster to compare and analyze data, greatly improving application efficiency and accuracy.
Support for the [Offline Data Recovery] function in MS SQL Data Logger allows you to store data locally when there is no connection and send it when the connection is restored
In the MS SQL Data Logger function, the user can enable the Offline Data Recovery option. In case of network disconnection, all data will be saved on the SD memory card. When the network becomes available again, data from the SD card is transferred back to the UA and imported into the database, eliminating the risk of data loss.
For general data collection, sensors send data to a control center and import it into a cloud database. However, if the network is interrupted, data transmitted during this period may be lost. The UA series supports the Offline Data Recovery mechanism. During network outages, all data is saved on the SD cards of UA devices. When the network is restored, the data from the SD card is resent to the UA and imported into the database, ensuring the integrity of historical data.
IoT cloud platform support: Connect to Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Bluemix and other IoT cloud platforms to transfer I/O data for big data analytics. MQTT Client Custom Messages (JSON) feature is also supported, allowing users to edit the format of messages to publish and send them to clients in a specified format.
IFTTT condition trigger support: Alarm notifications can be sent to popular mobile applications such as LINE, Twitter, Calendar, Mail, Weibo and others. Currently more than 800 applications supported.
Function master: The web interface contains a "Step Box" that guides users step-by-step to complete a project or function.
Creating internal modules: The UA server can create internal modules and variables to virtually read, write or exchange data, acting as an intermediary for communication with OPC UA clients.
EZ-UAQ utility support: EZ-UAQ Utility can simultaneously obtain IP, MAC address, firmware version and other information from multiple UA communication servers, allowing users to easily manage UA series on the network. The utility also helps you update firmware, projects or backups, and download local data record files.
