Portwell announces a new PICMG 1.3 processor board supporting Intel Core Alder Lake Generation processors - ROBO-8116G2AR.
New releases in the PICMG 1.3 form factor are rare. This is primarily due to the fact that cross-platform computing systems are specific and specialized equipment. Such computers are used exclusively for tasks where it is necessary to use a large number of different expansion cards. This is their main advantage, but it also limits the functionality of the base motherboard, which in cross-platform systems is usually called a processor. And secondly, very often, these systems are configured to use certain software that is necessary for the correct operation of expansion cards, and in the event of a failure, replacing the processor board with a new generation may lead to the fact that all software will need to be reconfigured or rewrite, which leads to significant economic losses. That is why manufacturers of PICMG 1.3 form factor boards are trying to extend their life cycle as long as possible. But, progress does not stand still and over time, any equipment becomes obsolete and needs to be replaced. For such cases, and for those professionals who are ready to apply the latest technologies in cross-platform systems, Portwell releases a modern mainboard ROBO-8116G2AR with support for the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i processors.
Key features of the new CPU board are:
- LGA1700 socket for Intel Core Alder Lake processors (Core i3/i5/i7/i9/Pentium/Celeron)
- support for DDR5 4800 RAM with a maximum capacity of up to 64GB (2x 262-pin slots)
- 4xSATA III (dual ports) with the ability to configure RAID arrays 0/1/5/10
- support for installing an M.2 drive format key M 2280
- 2x10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T/2500BASE-T Ethernet ports
- 4xUSB 2.0 и 4xUSB 3.2 + 1xUSB 3.2 Type C
- Three video interface ports: DVI-D, HDMI, Display Port
- Technology support Microsoft DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5
The new model is available in two variations: ROBO-8116G2AR and ROBO-8116G2AR-Q670E. The differences are:
