Also one of the significant advantages of Wi-Fi devices of the KyAir series is that in addition to the fact that most models support standard AP/Client/bridge modes, the KyAir800 series in turn supports IEEE 802.11k/v/r standards for seamless roaming using instant switching technology. Thanks to the support of these standards by the KyAir800 it is possible to build a MESH network at an industrial facility.

The MESH network provides seamless, high-speed switching between access points as the client moves between them and includes the following principle:

The client detects a decrease in the signal level from access point n1. It then analyzes the network to find another access point with a stronger signal. The client then disconnects from access point n1, goes through the authentication process and connects to access point n2, and so on as the client moves to subsequent access points n3-n[…].

Without MESH technology, the process would be different: the client would first disconnect from access point n1 with a low signal level and only then start looking for a new access point n2 with a more stable signal level. This could take up to several seconds to switch, which is often critical for industrial networks.

Up to 6 KyAir800 devices can be used in one MESH network в режиме AP (access point), with the ability to connect up to 254 client devices.

In addition, the Kyland Wi-Fi device lineup includes an industrial wireless controller of the KyAir3006 series, which makes it possible to centrally manage a wireless network built of KyAir600 and KyAir800 devices.
