The manufacturer of secure mobile solutions company Durabook, core brand of Twinhead, announced the appearance in April of an updated version of the 14-inch secure laptop S14I. The updated S14I will receive the latest 11th-generation Intel Tiger Lake processor, a 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. Optional installation of a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card is available.
Tom Wang, president of Durabook Americas, says the updated S14I laptop raises the bar for semi-secure devices to the next level. The S14I update will improve the already perfect combination of functionality and performance. The S14I is made in accordance with the military standard MIL-STD-810G, certified to IP53, withstands a fall fr om a height and allows you to work for up to 12 hours without recharging. The special DynaVue technology improves the readability of the screen in sunlight. All this allows you to use the S14I laptop in the most demanding and diverse conditions.
High performance for real-world operating conditions
The protected S14I laptop will receive an updated Intel Tiger Lake CPU of the 11th generation, which is made according to the 10-nm process technology. Compared to the previous 8th generation CPU, the CPU performance will increase by 63%. The Tiger Lake CPU has a built-in Intel Iris Xe graphics card, but for specialists who care about graphics performance, a package with a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card is available.
Advanced data storage capabilities
The S14I laptop is equipped with an NVMe PCIe bus, which provides data transfer speeds 6 times faster than the SATA III bus. Durabook delivers the S14I in several versions, including a 1TB SSD. In addition, the S14I allows you to install 2 more internal SATA III SSDs to maximize the amount of built-in storage.
Huge opportunities for expanding I / O interfaces
The upgraded S14I notebook offers a variety of I / O interfaces for connecting various devices, which increases the versatility of its application. The S14I offers 3 video outputs at once: digital HDMI, DP Type C, and analog VGA. Additionally, you can install a Smart card reader/CAC, PCMCIA, Express Card, and RFID. Various devices can be connected via 2 RS-232 serial ports, 2 RJ-45 Ethernet ports, or an optional Fischer connector. You can install a second battery, a data storage device, or a DVD drive in the media bay connector.
Maximum wireless connectivity
The S14I PC provides high-speed data transfer through the use of modern wireless interfaces Wi-Fi 6 on the AX201 chip and Bluetooth v5.1. The maximum Wi-Fi speed increased to 2.4 Gbps, which is 139% faster than the speed of the previous generation of the AC9260 chip. The bandwidth of Bluetooth v5.1 has increased by 8 times, compared to Bluetooth 4.2, and it is now possible to connect multiple devices simultaneously.
Increased security level
In today's digital world, the security requirements are very high. S14I now supports Windows Hello Biometric authentication technology, which provides a more secure, convenient, and faster way to access Windows 10. Using a fingerprint or facial recognition to log in is much more secure than simple passwords that are easy to crack. The laptop also has a TPM 2.0 module that allows you to detect interference during OS booting.
The most robust computer in its class
The Durabook S14I extends the definition of semi-secure solutions. The S14I version allows you to withstand a fall from a height of up to 120 cm. The laptop is also a first-in-class solution that offers IP53 protection against dust and moisture penetration, allowing it to be used wh ere dust and rain are common. The extended operating temperature range from -20 ° C to 60 ° C (-4 ° F to 140 ° F) allows you to use the laptop in unheated rooms and outdoors.
