Mobile Ethernet Switch with 4x PoE+ LAN, Ignition Control, 2x RJ45 WAN, Wide Temperature Range, Rugged Design

The VES-31-4S is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch for vehicles, enabling the efficient setup of complex IT networks. With its four PoE+ ports for peripheral devices and two GbE uplink ports, it serves as an ideal gateway, for example, between a telematic AI embedded server and distributed IP devices such as cameras or sensors.

With its compact and rugged design, the VES-31-4S is ideally suited to expand existing IoT infrastructures with additional IP devices. The unmanaged GbE switch features four RJ45 ports with integrated Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and dual Gigabit LAN for redundant connection to the local network. For consistently reliable and unified client management, the industrial PoE+ switch VES-31-4S includes a 2K MAC address memory stored using a 4-way hash algorithm.

Power supply for the VES-31-4S, including its four PoE+ LAN ports, is provided via a variable voltage input ranging from 9 VDC to 36 VDC. It supports features such as ignition-controlled boot/shutdown delay and automatic shutdown in the event of insufficient power supply or low battery capacity. The unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch complies with the IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ standard and delivers a stable output voltage for four IP devices with up to 30 watts of power. LED indicators on the front panel display the current status of each link and the device itself.

As a reliable GbE Ethernet switch for in-vehicle networking, the VES-31-4S operates fanlessly and without mechanical wear parts. It tolerates a wide temperature range from -40° Celsius to +70° Celsius. For continuous fail-safe operation, the VES-31-4S features a dustproof chassis and is certified to the MIL-STD-810H military standard for use in vehicles. Its compact design and clearly arranged interfaces allow for space-saving installation, either via wall mount or DIN-rail mounting. The VES-31-4S is primarily designed for use in road and rail transportation and, thanks to its minimal latency, is suitable for applications such as navigation, logistics, or sensor monitoring—but it is equally well-suited for tasks like data acquisition in harsh environments or outdoor video surveillance.
