The fanless industrial PC NISE 3900 is the latest member of the NISE series, which is known for its compact embedded computers. Due to its powerful graphics and processor units, the NISE 3900 is also suitable for demanding applications such as process monitoring or smart production despite its compact size. Applications in the field of digital signage, process automation or in a Smart Factory are the focus of the NISE 3900 series.
The high performance of the NISE 3900 is made possible by Intel processors of the 8th generation, which are codenamed "Coffee Lake" at Intel. This latest generation of processors supports the hardware decoding of modern codecs such as HEVC/H.265. This new type of video compression offers tangible practical advantages in areas such as digital signage or IP camera surveillance. In the digital signage area, the reduction of the video bit rate ensures lower energy consumption and more efficient streaming with the same quality. The transmission of images from IP cameras and subsequent storage can be used more effectively on existing storage space, as video encoded in H.265 can save up to 40% of storage space compared to H.264. Screens and displays are controlled by the integrated Intel HD Graphics 630, HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI-D are supported.
The NISE 3900 system uses a Q370 PCH chipset. The board offers space for a 2.5" HDD and two internal Mini PCIe cards. Fieldbus, LTE and WLAN can be retrofitted. SIM cards and .M2 hard disks can be connected via an external socket. It supports up to 16 GB DDR4 memory, which clocks significantly higher than its predecessor and works more efficiently. The supported temperature range is -5 to 55° C. The ambient humidity can be up to 95% at 40°C with fail-safe operation at the same time.
Thanks to its high performance and first-class connectivity, the NISE 3900 is perfectly suited for resource-intensive IoT applications. Thanks to the GPIO, RS232/422/485 modules, the NISE 3900 can also be easily integrated into grown structures and conventional communication applications.
