Nowadays, monitoring solutions for roads are essential, because severe road accidents occur more frequently due to increasing numbers of vehicles. These systems allow monitoring intersections online, diminishing quantity of patrolling policeman, increasing the discipline of drivers and finally reducing the traffic accidents. IFS-803GSM-8PHE24 and IFS-402GSM-8PHE24 switches allow to build up a secure Intersection Monitoring Solution with special equipment for Highway Surveillance.
These switches support PoE per IEEE802.3af (15.4W) or IEEE802.3at (30W) for connection to standard PoE Power Devices. So, PoE IP surveillance cameras, traffic flow sensors, Access Points, and traffic controllers can be connected to the switches. This equipment is able to record traffic images, count the number of passing cars and record car speed for future analysis and archiving in the Control Centre.
Moreover, this equipment:
- provide Industrial grade EMI, EMS and EN50121-4 certification which confirm better protection against unexpected lightning strikes, ESD or surges.
- support various efficient network redundancy (such as u-Ring) when a single point of failure occurs. u-Ring can support up to 5 rings (maximum) and can recover from a single point of failure in 10 ms.
