Efficient SoC embedded PC for rail and road implementation: the nROK-1030-A
Up-to-date and powerful IT systems are proving to be indispensable in modern logistics - whether for implementing digital signage and information systems for passengers or providing H2M terminals for monitoring and controlling external components. The nROK-1030-A is a versatile and efficient vehicle PC that has been specially developed to meet the requirements of rail transport, but can also be used in various mobile environments as needed.
Modern SoC gives the nROK-1030-A decisive advantages
For high energy efficiency and sufficient resources during load peaks, the embedded box PC nROK-1030-A uses an Intel Atom x6211E processor that operates at a low base frequency of 1.30 GHz, but temporarily increases this to a clock of 3.00 GHz during complex calculations. As a system-on-a-chip (SoC), the CPU integrates 10th-generation Elkhart Lake Intel UHD Graphics for output to three displays in 4K with PCI Express lanes and triple LAN over 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps in minimal space and with a power dissipation of just 6 watts TDP. The low heat dissipation not only enables a very stable and fanless system but also means high-cost efficiency for 24/7/365 operation.
The nROK-1030-A has a universal connection to the periphery
In addition to the nROK-1030-A's internal sensors - including, for example, GPS or Galileo, Glonass and Beidou as well as 3D acceleration and gyroscope - the fanless embedded PC has a versatile selection of interfaces. In addition to dual Serial COM RS232/422/485 and two USB ports, it also includes a CAN port 2.0B, 9-bit GPIO for direct interaction with circuits and measurement devices, and dual LAN via 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps. Graphical output is provided by Dual Independent View on HDMI and VGA at resolutions up to 4K on an extended, cloned, or independent desktop. Optionally, of course, the use of touch screens for H2M or SCADA interfaces is possible.
Rugged design for operation in harsh conditions
The nROK-1030-A uses high-quality components that have a high tolerance to mechanical and thermal influences. In addition to certification to the MIL-STD-810H military standard, this operates in a very wide temperature range of -40° Celsius to +70° Celsius and requires no active cooling. The primary area of application for the nROK-1030-A covers mobile environments including rail and road transport and equally encompasses logistics, navigation, communications, and electronic monitoring or control.
