In contrast to other industrial tablet PCs, the Durabook-U11I does not use a dedicated ARM processor but relies on powerful hardware fr om a series of mobile designs for notebooks and embedded PCs. The use of a 10th generation Intel Core i5 / i7 "Tiger Lake" processor and RAM, which can be expanded to 16GB DDR3L RAM, ensures full compatibility with 64-bit x86 operating systems such as Microsoft Windows. In contrast to other industrial tablet PCs with this configuration, the Durabook-U11I operates completely fanless thanks to passive cooling and is therefore not prone to common problems such as dirt or mechanical wear. It also allows for upgrades to ANSI / ISA Class I & II, Division 2, and Class III, Division 1 & 2 certifications for use in hazardous areas wh ere reliable shielding between the electronics and the environment is required.

The Durabook-U11I Industrial Tablet PC uses an 11.6-inch FHD touchscreen with capacitive detection and 1000 nits extra brightness as a display for comfortable operation in bright light such as direct sunlight. For communication and peripheral connectivity, the Industrial Panel PC offers two USB ports, Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet and WLAN 802.11, as well as additional interfaces including Bluetooth, NEO-M8N GPS, WWAN over 4G LTE, and a smart card reader. In addition, the rugged Durabook-U11I tablet computer allows expandable system settings, including, among other things, an RF connector through which all antennas for GPS, WLAN, or mobile Internet can be pulled out via the docking station.
