CES 2025 – NexAIoT has taken a leap forward in autonomous robotics with the debut of its second-generation autonomous mobile robot (AMR) platform, the Nex-MOV2. Showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the Nex-MOV2 integrates the cutting-edge Kneron KL730 neural processing unit (NPU), bringing advanced AI capabilities directly to the device.

A Smarter AMR Platform

The Nex-MOV2 builds on the success of its predecessor, the Nex-MOV, by incorporating the KL730 NPU, an automotive-grade chip capable of delivering 3.6 eTOPS of INT8 precision or 7.2 eTOPS of INT4 precision compute. Designed for low-power applications, this chip enables the Nex-MOV2 to perform critical AI workloads such as:

  • Vision-based Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM)
  • Obstacle Avoidance
  • Sensor Fusion for Real-Time Navigation

Unlike conventional systems that rely on lidar, the Nex-MOV2 leverages its integrated cameras for a 3D perception of its environment, reducing hardware complexity and costs.

Versatile System-on-Module Options

To enhance flexibility, the Nex-MOV2 supports NVIDIA Jetson and Intel SMARC system-on-modules, catering to a range of performance and power requirements. This modular approach makes the platform adaptable to various applications, from industrial logistics to service robots in public spaces.

Low-Power AI Revolution

The KL730 NPU’s efficiency shines in enabling real-time processing on the robot, even supporting lightweight large language models (LLMs) like nanoGPT. This feature broadens the Nex-MOV2’s potential for human-robot interaction and intelligent decision-making.
