Moxa Unveils High-Performance Industrial NAT Router: NAT-108
Moxa highlights its NAT-108 secure router as a robust solution for industrial network address translation (NAT) applications in challenging environments. The device is part of Moxa’s EDR (Edge Device Router) family, designed to combine routing, firewall, VPN, and switching into a single ruggedized unit tailored for automation and control networks.
Rugged, High-Availability Design
- The NAT-108 supports 8 × 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 Ethernet ports, making it well suited for multi-interface industrial deployments.
- It operates over a wide temperature range of –10 °C to +60 °C, with a metal housing, DIN-rail or wall mounting, and protections such as reverse polarity safeguards.
- High reliability with an MTBF of approximately 5,640,140 hours and a 5-year warranty.
Strong Networking & Security Capabilities
- Routing throughput up to 100 Mbps (approx. 15,000 packets/sec), support for up to 300 routing rules, and up to 30,000 concurrent connections.
- NAT features include 1-to-1, N-to-1, port forwarding, NAT loopback, and IP twins mapping.
- Security features: firewall filtering by IP/MAC/ports, port-based auto learning lock, Secure Boot, trusted access control, and real-time firewall/VPN event logging (local storage or Syslog).
- Management interfaces include a web console (HTTP/HTTPS), SSH, Telnet, SNMPv1/2c/3, LLDP, and DHCP server/client.
Target Applications & Significance
The NAT-108 offers a compact, cost-effective NAT device for industrial settings that demand both connectivity and security. By integrating multiple network functions into a single unit, it reduces the need for separate devices and simplifies deployment and maintenance in industries such as manufacturing, energy, transit, and oil & gas — environments where network reliability and a hardened design are essential.
