Nexcom has launched a series of embedded high-performance computers for railway transport nROK-7251. The PCs have protected M12 connectors and support RAID.
The series includes three models: nROK-7251-WI-7C4IP, nROK-7251-7C4, nROK-7251-7A. The main differences are the degree of enclosure protection, the number of I/O ports, and the power supply voltage. A detailed comparison is given in the table below.
The compact design of the PC makes it easy to install it in a limited space. In addition a modern Intel Core i7 9th gen CPU provides high performance with low heat dissipation, only 35 watts.

Computers nROK-7251-WI-7C4IP, nROK-7251-7C4, nROK-7251-7A have an aluminum case with cooling fins. PCs have high computing power thanks to the Intel Core i7-9700TE processor with a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and max frequency of 3.8 GHz in Turbo Boost mode. The chipset is based on the modern Intel Q370 chipset. Intel UHD 630 is responsible for graphics. The RAM supports dual-channel mode and can be expanded to 64 Gigabytes of DDR4 SO-DIMM.

Video surveillance
nROK-7251-WI-7C4IP / nROK-7251-7C4 are equipped with 5 LAN ports. Four ports support 802.3 af/at PoE technology and provide up to 60 watts of power. PoE technology allows you to connect and power an IP camera. The train driver will be able to see everything that happens in the passenger compartment/car of the vehicle through 2 displays (1x VGA, 1x HDMI for nROK-7251-7C4). Video stream from the cameras can be recorded on two 2.5" SATA SSD/HDD. They are conveniently located and can be easily removed via external slots. The operating system can be installed on an internal M.2 or mSATA drive.
Data control
Built-in 8xDIO I/O ports nROK-7251-WI-7C4IP, nROK-7251-7C4, nROK-7251-7A allow you to connect additional sensors. Information from them, GPS and the three-axis G Sensor can be displayed on the screen in the driver's cab or transmitted to the control center. For example, four digital inputs can be used to control the position of doors, and four digital outputs can be used to control interior lighting.
Fleet management
To expand the capabilities, the nROK-7251 series has 3 miniPCIe slots and 2 M. 2 slots. You can install Bluetooth, WLAN, or 3G/4G modules in them. You can also duplicate 3G/4G modules. 6 slots for communication modules and 6 SIM cards are available. Now the mobile Internet will not be interrupted. The current location and other vehicle data will be transmitted to the head center reliably. And the trains will run unchanged in the schedule.
Embedded computers nROK-7251 have a wide range of operating temperatures from -40°C to 70°C, which is especially important when operating in the railway industry. In addition, PCs are certified by EN 50155:2017, have secure M12 connectors and a special power system to connect to the on-board train network.
