IEI has introduced a new ATX format motherboard, named IMBAX-SP6.
IMBAX-SP6 is mainly designed for creating server solutions, workstations and working with Edge AIO.
IMBAX-SP6 is based on AMD EPIC SP6 8004 series processors with Zen 4 or Zen4k architecture, which can have up to 64 cores and 128 threads at a power consumption level (TDP) from 70 to 225 watts.
The new mainboard has six slots for GDDR5 RDIMM RAM with a maximum supported capacity of 576 GB, a transfer rate of 4800 Mt/s and error correction (ECC).
For storage, there are eight 6 GB/s SATA connectors for 2.5 SSD SATADO and four M.2 M-key 2242/2280 slots for NVMe solid-state drives.
To achieve high data transfer speeds, the platform comes with with four 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (2.5 Gbit/s) network ports using Intel I225-LM/I226-LM controllers.
IMBAX-SP6 also has a large number of expansion slots, providing flexibility when installing additional devices such as graphics cards, RAID controllers or other peripheral devices, such as:
- one PCIe Gen5 x16 slots
- two PCIe Gen4 x16 slots
- three PCIe Gen4 x8 slots

One of key features of the new IMBAX-SP6 is a built-in IPMIAST-2600 controller, which provides the ability to remotely control the system via the DisplayPort 1.1a interface and an RJ45 network port.

I/O interfaces:
On the back panel of the CPU board there are four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports with data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps, as well as an RJ45 connector for connecting an RS-232 console.
Applications of IMBAX-SP6:
- Servers and data centers: large number of cores and support for up to 576 GB of RAM make this mainboard a good solution for building servers and storing data in large corporate systems and cloud storage.
- Video and graphics: connecting multiple graphics cards via the PCIe Gen 5 and Gen4 slot allows you to use this card for video rendering, image processing, and multimedia content creation.
- Financial services and trading: the high-speed network and huge memory capacity allow to process large amounts of financial data in real time, which is critical for exchange operations and market trend analysis.
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning: the platform is great for training neural networks and executing machine learning algorithms due to its large number of cores and ultra-fast I/O interfaces.
- Telecommunication systems: because of the high-speed network interface, the platform can be used in telecommunication networks to route traffic and provide communication between different nodes.
