FTA 5190 — a new compact Edge AI server from NEXCOM

NEXCOM has presented a new generation compact server — FTA 5190, based on Intel Xeon 6556P-B CPU with support for 5th generation Intel Quick Assist Technology and Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions.

Built-in Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) accelerates machine learning workloads right on the server, enabling faster processing of large volumes of data at the point of collection, while integration with Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT) Gen5 significantly improves the efficiency of cryptographic operations and data compression, reducing latency and improving overall system performance.

Key features:

  • Chassis format: 1U Rack Mount
  • CPU: Intel Xeon 6556P-B with a frequency of up to 3.5 GHz and a thermal power (TDP) of only 215 W.
  • Memory: the ability to install four strips of 32 GB of DDR5 6400 ECC RDIMM RAM. Maximum capacity: 128 GB.
  • Storage: one M.2 Key M 2280 NVMe SSD slot and two M.2 Key M/B 2242 SSD slots. Supported storage protocols: RAID 0, RAID 1, AHCI.
  • I/O interfaces: support for two USB type A ports version 3.2 Gen1, console port and management port.
  • Network: eight 25-Gigabit optical Ethernet ports (SFP+) and eight Gigabit RJ45 ports. Additionally, there is an expansion slot for installing a communication module.
  • Power consumption: the server comes with a redundant 600 W power supply (1+1).
  • Operating temperature range: from 0 °C to +40 °C
