IPC2U partner Prime Computer has launched a fanless but powerful mini PC, which consumes only 13W in normal operation and needs no more than 30W even under peak load. Compared to standard office PCs, this means an average annual saving of around 150 euros in typical use and almost 450 euros in 24/7 operation. Since all PrimeMini 5 come with a five-year warranty, this results in a very high savings potential over the entire runtime.
The PrimeMini 5 is also a "Green IT" product, having won the Green Product Award 2021 in the "Workspace" category, as it is manufactured in a particularly resource-friendly way and Prime Computer fully offsets the amount of CO2 emitted during production, distribution and the first five years of operation thanks to its support for selected environmental protection projects. The PrimeMini 5 is therefore 100% climate neutral.
The PrimeMini 5 is a configurable PC that can be equipped with Intel Core i3, i5, i7 as well as Celeron processors from the Whiskey Lake generation and up to 32GB RAM via two channels. The PrimeMini 5 uses SSDs in classic 2.5" format as well as M.2 with NVMe as mass storage media. This makes it possible, for example, to install the operating system and applications on the extremely fast M.2 SSD and use a high-capacity 2.5" SSD to save data. The compact PCs of the PrimeMini 5 series are available in a range of pre-configurations, both with and without operating system. However, easy access to the components allows the user to equip and expand the PC according to their needs and requirements.
In its basic configuration, the PrimeMini 5 has two HDMI 2.0a ports with 4K resolution and 1x DP via USB Type-C and can simultaneously display data on two independent screens. It also offers 5x USB (3x USB 3.1, 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, Thunderbolt 3 via Type-C), 1x RJ45 Gbit port and the obligatory DC input. The computer can be further personalized via plug-in modules that lead further interfaces, e.g. 1x LAN and 1x RS232, 1x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 or 1x RS232 and a connector for an external power button to the outside. Wi-Fi and BlueTooth 5.1 are also optionally available. Furthermore, the models with i5 and i7 CPU are equipped with TPM and intel vPro.
