ICP DAS has introduced the DNP-211 gateway to convert DNP3 protocol to Modbus TCP. The DNP-211 Gateway allows a controller on a Modbus TCP network to poll up to 32 DNP3 Outstations via TCP, UDP and RS-485. Up to 16 Modbus TCP Clients can receive data at the upper level through the gateway.
DNP3 (Distributed Network Protocol 3 or Distributed Network Protocol 3) is a communication protocol between ICS components. The DNP3 protocol is used as a universal communication method between SCADA system, Master Station, Remote Terminal Units (RTU) and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) in industries such as power and water treatment.
