Axiomtek presents new video capture cards with 10 GigE interface: AX92324-PoE and AX92324-w/oPoE. The cards feature PCI Express x4 interface and can receive video streams at speeds up to 10 Gb/s, which is especially important for machine vision and video surveillance systems.
Machine vision is a complex of Artificial Intelligence methods allowing to get images of objects in the real world, process and use them to solve various kinds of applied problems without human help.
The main characteristics of video surveillance systems for real-time operation are signal latency and jitter. In the early days of Ethernet, latency of a few seconds was the norm. Even today, a latency of about two seconds is considered acceptable in security systems, since most of the video data is stored on the drive for later viewing. In industrial machine vision systems, the delay in transferring the image from the image sensor to the display should not exceed 100 ms.
Axiomtek’s AX92324 frame grabber series has the lowest image latency and has comprehensive PoE power protection (for AX92324-PoE). The automatic power management system adjusts the current and output voltage through the PoE port, thereby protecting cameras from damage.
