The performance of computationally complex tasks, for example in artificial intelligence (AI), requires a specialized variant of embedded industrial PCs that allow flexible expansion, for example with GPU, despite a robust, compact and fanless design. With the TANK-XM810-Modular-Series there are several representatives of these modern high-performance computers to choose from, which can be individually scaled in terms of performance as well as hardware to achieve optimum cost-benefit efficiency with a long runtime.
High basic performance due to 10/11th generation Intel Core CPU
By using the latest Intel processors from the 10th and 11th generation Comet Lake and Rocket Lake, respectively, the TANK-XM810 modular series already uses an above-average powerful and efficient hardware in its base configuration and supports octa-core CPUs like the i7-10700E with a clock frequency of up to 4.50 GHz on 16 threads. For RAM, there are two memory banks that can be used with up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM in Dual Channel to handle memory-intensive operations. For drives, the TANK-XM810 modular series uses two M.2 NVMe SSDs that support native RAID 0/1 for maximum performance or data integrity.
To achieve a modular design with versatile flexibility, the TANK-XM810 modular series offers the option to expand the enclosure by several slots for expansion cards in PCI Express x16 to x1 or PCI through a backplane with an attached eChassis. Several variants with two to four slots are available, which can also accommodate a maximum of two parallel cards with double height - such as powerful graphics cards of the latest series. Due to its high power consumption, the eChassis also has the option of supplying an output power of up to 600 watts via a separate power supply, including the additionally required connections such as 6 and 8 pin PCIe. Of course, the TANK-XM810 modular series also features full compatibility with other expansion cards such as high speed I/O, LAN networks or frame grabbers or video surveillance with integrated motion detection and data analysis.
Rugged design for maximum resilience
Despite the passive, fanless cooling, the TANK-XM810-Modular-Series operates in a very wide temperature range from -20° Celsius to +60° Celsius without having to throttle the processor to reduce heat development. For powerful performance with CPU of 65 watts TDP, an external fan is also available as an optional accessory, which allows retrofitting without interfering with the running system. The certification according to the MIL-STD 810G standard, which originates from military technology, ensures trouble-free operation under harsh conditions such as permanent vibrations and strong shocks or in mobile use as a vehicle PC.
Modern and versatile - optimized embedded PC for productive environments
Compared to desktop PCs, industrial computers have an above-average service life, so that long-term concerns and future expansions have a high priority when selecting them. The flexible, robust design of the TANK-XM810-Modular-Series stands for long-term planning security and enables comprehensive individualization of the embedded PC as well as subsequent scaling if the requirements change in productive use. With its extensive options for integrating additional I/O and separate expansion cards, including a GPU as a coprocessor, it creates the necessary conditions for adapting the embedded PC to different environments and, if necessary, adapting it to a new situation during operation.
