A newcomer on the Panel PC market for building or industry automation, digital signage or info-/entertainment is the AFL2-10A-N28 from the AFOLUX GEN II series. This light industrial Panel PC can for example be deployed in video surveillance, control of automatic industrial production lines or infotainment in banks, supermarkets or public facilities.
The 10,4” LCD Touch Screen has 400 cd/m² brightness, 700:1 contrast ratio and viewing angle of 160°/140° (H/V), which are significantly above the competition average. It provides a useable, comfortable and at the same time compact working surface. It can be used also at moderate sunlight, offers clear images and ensures good readability also for groups.

One of the properties, featuring an industrial Panel PC is high performance at low energy consumption. This is possible thanks to the Intel Atom Dual Core N2800 1,86GHz Netbook CPU combined with up to 4GB DDR2 RAM (2GB default). Graphic performance of this CPU out of the Cedarview series is approximately 4 times higher as this one of the Intel Atom Dual Core D525 CPU, the CPU performance itself is approximately 40% better.
Thereby the CPU has with 6.5W lower power consumption as the Intel Atom D525 processor with its 13W TDP. Furthermore, the computer is fanless and thus almost failure-free regarding mechanical problems. The AFL2 Panel PC possesses a lot of interfaces such as 1x Gbit LAN, 1x RS422/485, 2x RS232, 2x ultra speed USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0 as well as 1x mini USB 2.0, increasing computer flexibility. Connection of a further, external display is over Display Port possible. The compact industrial Panel PC has audio interface, 2x 1.5W + 1.5W AMP and a 2M webcam with digital microphone allowing direct data transmission and conferences. An EEE 802.11b/g/n 2T2R module or Bluetooth V2.0+EDR with USB interface can be optionally installed for wireless communication, what is particularly important for digital signage, health care or logistic management. E.g. as access control or as POS the AFL2-10A-N28 can be optionally equipped with EM 125 KHz or Mifare 13.56 MHz as well as MSR card reader.
The semi-industrial Panel PC is outfitted with 9~36VDC power input ensuring deployment flexibility in industrial or mobile applications like for example forklift. Moreover, the compact Panel PC can operate in AT or ATX mode.
For data storage there can be used either 2.5'' SATA HDD or SSD.
The Panel PC posseses a front bezel protected according to IP64 and can work within the temperature range of -20°C to +45°C. Industry, cold logistic hangars, POS, outdoor gastronomy, vending machines or in low heated premises are keen to learn such a device.
With wall, rack, stand and arm VESA 75mm x 75mm mounting the user has mounting choice for almost all situations.
