Ethernet switch EDS-208-M-SC. Network switch EDS-208-M-SC by MOXA is a modification of a budget-friendly unmanaged switch that is widely used in the industrial branch. The device houses 7 Ethernet ports of 10/100 Base TX standard with RJ-45 slots and 1 100 Base FX high speed optical port with a modern SC slot that transmits data over a multi-mode fiber optic core cable made from ultra-pure silica glass. The device is provided in a compact plastic housing. It can be powered by either direct, or alternative current power source and supports the extended operating temperature range. The large MAC address table (1000) and packet buffer (512 Kbit) speed up the traffic localization and reduce latency. The direct and backward flow control function (802.3x Flow Control, Back Pressure) pauses the data transmission in the event of the receiving port buffer overflow. This prevents data loss. The wide range of input voltage simplifies the power source connection. DC: 12…45 V. AC: 18…30 V. The device consumes 5.52 W (230 mA at 24 V). There is built-in reverse polarity protection. The extended operating temperature range allows the device to work outside heated rooms: -10…60 °C. The plastic housing that complies with IP30 protects the electronic components from shocks and vibrations (МЭК-60068/ IEC 60068), has compact dimensions (40х100х86) and can be easily mounted on a DIN-rail. The unbelievable mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeds 8.5 centuries. With its affordable price, EDS-208-M-SC managed to preserve all advantages: great performance, easy configuration, traffic optimization function, simplicity and high reliability. The optical port provides a communication channel for large distances, as well as wide bandwidth and no distortions.
