Converter MGate 5118. Industrial gateway MGate 5118 is produced by MOXA to retrieve data from a CAN bus of a vehicle over Modbus, PROFINET and Ethernet/IP protocols. The model supports all conversion directions and operation modes: J1939 into Modbus RTU/ASCII (Master/Slave), J1939 into Modbus TCP (Client/Server), J1939 into Ethernet/IP (Scanner/Adapter), J1939 into PROFINET (I/O Device). In order to deal with problems in configuration and parallel operation of multiple protocols, the gateway has a very simple interface and is equipped with diagnostics and control function for the connected device status. J1939 adapter MGate 5118: description and features: 2 Ethernet ports: 10/100 Mbit/s with one IP address and opportunity for cascading. CAN interface: SAE J1939 (250, 500 Kbit/s). Modbus interface: RTU/ASCII, RS-232/422/485 (from 50 bit/s up to 921.6 Kbit/s). There are integrated functions of J1939 devices auto search and cable breakdown detection. Traffic monitoring allows you to control the status, the diagnostics tools allow checking the settings. Function of auto detection of commands that were used by CAN devices can display its complete list for further use and modification (only one click on a web console is required). When two or mode devices are connected, Live List function shows the detailed communication parameters for each device, as well as the loading of the CAN bus. Support of Micro SD provides storing and recovering the configurations and logs keeping. The contactless galvanic isolation of the CAN bus and COM-ports (2 kV) prevents the risk of current leakage and communication disruption. The fanless metal chassis of compact dimensions (46х134х105) protects the electronic components from shocks and vibrations: IEC 60068-2. Mean time between failures (MTBF) — over 80 years. SAE J1939 protocol works on top of the CAN bus and is applied in the automobile industry. Using this protocol, the converter MGate 5118 allows connecting programmable logic controllers to the devices that control diesel engine generators that operate in harsh environment (heavy duty truck industry, construction and agriculture vehicles). Compliance with strict field-specific standard is confirmed by certificates as follows: C1D2, ATEX, IECEx.
