VTC 7230 performance

This in-vehicle computer runs on the fifth-generation Intel Core processor i3-5010U that enables machine visions, signal processing as well as video transcoding capabilities that are required for automated recognition of number plates and ADAS. It comes built with a number of telematic features that support fleet management. It also comes with security features that protect vehicles in the IoT and it also enhances crew performance through Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and video surveillance with feeds that are streamed from multiple sources. Physical security is further enhanced through the pre-alarm function on the in-vehicle computer. It has two DI and DO channels and a button that can be used to raise an alarm should an event like an accident or attempted car-jacking or theft occur. Both can be operated even when off which ensures that emergency calls for assistance and alarms are always at hand for the crew to use in such events.

Security is also enhanced through GPS that is built-in for purposes of navigation and vehicle tracking. There is also a CAN bus 2.08 interface with the option of OBD II function to provide vehicle diagnostics. Remote monitoring of vehicle diagnostics is also enabled as it storing and exchanging data from video surveillance feeds and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) services. This is done through four mini-PCIe expansions with dual external HDDs and dual WWAN support. These provide high cellular bandwidth that makes connections ultra-fast and provide ample storage for large media and video files.

This impressive computer also does a great job with grpahics. The fifth-generation Intel Core processors that use the new Intel 14nm process includes Intel HD graphics 5500 and 6000 and also increased hardware security. Its performance is nothing less that excellent when it comes enabling multitasking capability for applications that are compute-intensive such as ADAS. There is also the Intel Quick Sync Video that facilitates very fast transcode time. Also, with hardware security design Intel AES-NI and Intel OS Guard, the systems have protection against malware attacks and data encryption is accelerated.
