Advantech company has announced its new product of UNO series - a compact embedded computer UNO-420.
The key feature of the new model is the PoE-In technology that powers a computer via a LAN port using an Ethernet cable, which is significantly less expensive than fiber cables. This allows reducing amount of cabling and minimize the installation and maintenance costs.
For remote control, various Wi-Fi/3G/4G network modules can be used. Moreover, there is support of NB-IoT wireless network modules to transfer data on large distances easily. As cybersecurity is crucial for the Internet of things that is becoming more popular, UNO-420 also features a trusted platform module (TPM 2.0) that ensures secure cloud operations.
The new device is fully compatible with WISE-PaaS/Edgelink software for data acquisition from over 200 protocols used by legacy devices.
Thanks to Intel Atom E3815 processor with clock rate of 1.46 GHz, three selectable serial ports, 8-channel digital input/output port and PoE, UNO-420 becomes an ideal solution for legacy devices connection and data acquisition. With its compact dimensions of 125 x 125 x 50 mm and the support of extended temperature range from -20 to 60 C, the system can withstand harsh industrial environment.
