IPC2U presents the new Pipal 2192MVE. This Embedded System is primarily designed as In-Vehicle PC. Like all other systems of the Pipal Series the Pipal 2192MVE provides all features which leave nothing to be desired. Also concerning design the Pipal 2192MVE is attractive: it was awarded with the renowned Red Dot Design Award, which is given for an outstanding product design.
The Pipal 2192MVE offers a performing and at the same time energy saving Intel Atom D510 Dual Core processor. This, along with the heat-dissipating design of the embedded PC, allows fanless construction of Pipal and thus reduces susceptibility to errors by the absence of moving parts. Particularly in vehicles it is important as it permanently comes to vibrations there.
1GB DDR2 RAM is onboard, up to 3GB are possible. Data can be stored on a 2.5” hard disk, which is to be fixed in a vibration protected HDD Drive Bay. Alternatively, a solid state disk can be used to reliable, vibration resistant data saving.
Additional security is provided by a smart battery for non-stop operations. In the case of power failure the system can be powered for 2-3 hours.
The Pipal 2192MVE is equipped with GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE/ HSDPA/ WCDMA as well as 20-channel GPS and WiFi modules. It allows variable data exchange opportunities in Tri – or Quad-band module as well as navigation and fleet management.
Power Ignition and wide voltage range
The Pipal 2192MVE can be powered with 9V up to 80V DC. So, the Embedded Computer can be deployed in almost every environment: in the car with 12V battery, 24/42V in the truck or in the industry or commercial area. Power Ignition means that powering the computer on and off can be aligned on the running time of the motor.
DVR – Module support
The internal Mini-PCI DVR module is based on 4-channel video recording. It supports NTSC and PAL systems as well as H.264 video compression format and 720 x 480 resolution.
Interfaces and expansions
The Embedded PC provides comprehensive interfaces such as 1x Giga LAN, 2x COM, 5x USB, VGA, LVDS for integration in networking, connecting to displays and further devices. Especially important are isolated 3x DI and 2x DO for data acquisition, whereby they are protected against suddenly appearing voltage peaks up to 2500V e. g. as a result of lightning.
The CAN interface normally used in vehicles, providing special reliability and speed of data transmission, is also isolated.
Furthermore, the Pipal 2192MVE has very good expansion capabilities via 1x PCI, 1x PCIe und 1x PCIe slots.
Variability of the Pipal proves also concerning a choice of the operating system. It can run under different versions of Window (XP Professional, 7, Embedded) as well as under Linux.
Wide temperature range and certification
The Embedded PC can successfully run between -30°C and +50°C.
Whereby the Pipal 2192MVE is certificated according to CE Class A, FCC Class A and eMark, which is very important in the case of Embedded PC deployment in vehicles.
